Nightly One-Way Traffic Control on State Route-12 (SR-12) for Pavement Rehabilitation

SOLANO / CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES  – Caltrans Construction is continuing the pavement rehabilitation project on State Route – 12. Work will consist of paving conforms on the two sides of the Union Creek Bridge. On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 8:00 P.M. construction will be paving and preparing for next week’s concrete barrier installation.

Full Weekend Closure of Westbound I-80 Carquinez (Alfred Zampa) Bridge in the cities of Vallejo and Crockett
ALL LANES NOW OPEN

 

SOLANO / CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES  – On Monday August 24, 2026, at Midnight Caltrans construction opened all westbound lanes are now open on I-80 at the Carquinez Bridge (Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge), 3 hours ahead of the scheduled reopening.

Crews successfully paved the two-mile stretch of the bridge deck, while maintenance crews completed vegetation management, fencing repairs, and drainage clearing along westbound I-80 from I-780 to the Toll Plaza.

Full Weekend Closure of Westbound I-80 Carquinez (Alfred Zampa) Bridge in the cities of Vallejo and Crockett

Starting: Friday, August 21, 2026, from 10:00 PM to Monday, August 24, 2026, 3:00AM

 

SOLANO / CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES  – Caltrans construction is scheduled to implement a full closure of on Westbound I-80 Carquinez (Alfred Zampa Memorial) Bridge on Friday, August 21, 2026, 10:00 PM, and continues until 3:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2026. Construction crews will be working the full weekend to repave the entire westbound bridge deck. Caltrans maintenance crews will also be working in Vallejo from the foot of the bridge to Highway 780 and complete work like maintenance, vegetation control, and litter/graffiti clean up among other tasks.

Schedule:
Start – Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 PM
End – Monday, August 24, 2026, at 3:00 AM

Note: Pedestrian/Bike Path will be closed for the weekend.

SOLANO/CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES  – Caltrans construction is scheduled to implement a one-lane and shoulder closure on westbound I-80 Carquinez (Alfred Zampa Memorial) Bridge on Friday, August 14, 2026, 6:00 PM, and continues until 7:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026. This work is in preparation for the upcoming 53-hour weekend full closure for a full deck replacement.

Schedule:
• Start – Friday, August 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM
• End – Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM

Note: Pedestrian/Bike Path is still accessible for the one-lane closure.

Nighttime Lane, Ramp Closures of Various Locations on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Fairfield, Solano County for Trash Capture Device Project

Start of work: Friday, July 24 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings

 

SOLANO COUNTY  –  Caltrans is scheduled to start installation of a Trash Capture Device project on Interstate 80 (I-80) in the city of Fairfield. Prior to construction, k-rails will be put into place in Fairfield from Pittman Road to the North Texas Street overcrossing.

This requires nighttime lane closure at multiple locations. Closures will occur nightly starting on Friday July 24, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings.

This project will install trash capture systems that will stop trash from going out into water sources. It will also entail update of guardrails and construction of mainline pull outs for maintenance vehicles and erosion control. Project will be in construction until January 2027.

Locations:
• Eastbound on and off-ramps to and from Pittman Road
• Westbound I-80 near State Route 12 (SR-12)
• Westbound I-80 near Air Base Parkway
• Various locations along I-80 in Fairfield from Pittman Road to the North Texas Street overcrossing.

One-way Traffic Control on Rio Vista Bridge/SR-12 Rio Vista City

Starting: July 16, 2026, from 07:00 PM to 05:00 AM the following day.

 

SOLANO COUNTY  – Caltrans Maintenance will implement a One-way traffic control on State Route 12 at the Rio Vista Bridge for deck maintenance starting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, 7:00 PM, and continuing until 5:00 AM July 17.

Schedule:
Start – July 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM
End- July 17, 2026, at 5:00 AM

Motorists will need to be prepared for significantly longer delays than usual as they pass through the area.
